Well! I happened upon this site again by chance after probably 5 years and it has been lovely to remember ‘old’ writing friends and, indeed, read some of my own stuff from so long ago. So I thought I would just pop by to say ‘Hello’ and wish you continued enjoyment on your writing journeys.

I am now 78! and still writing in one way or another, though there have been fallow periods because of illness etc in family and medical issues for myself. However, I discovered recently that I have a treatable cancer and, this time, the itch to write and creativity generally have increased significantly! So, I want to thank my membership of Den and Denizens and, dare I mention, Word Cloud! and Cloudies for the parallel journeys taken over many years. I shall always be a writer, as will you all and it is a great way to express and share ~ as I am sure you will all agree. The counsellor in me also considers writing to be wonderful therapy. Best wishes. 🌈😊🌈

    • Mention whatever you want. The Cloud brought many of us together and it was a fabulous start for many, and a nudge on the way for others.

      • Hello, Athelstone. I was a member of Word Cloud from its inception; invited because I had just had a critique from Harry et al. Therefore I saw many writers come and go as well as forming good online relationships with those who stayed long term. It was so beneficial and inspiring and I learned a myriad of writing skills from both the professionals and co members. Not wishing to blow my own trumpet, but doing so anyway! I believe I contributed much to the community too. 😊. I was so glad when The Den was set up and realise now I have rediscovered it just how much participating in such a group has been a lack in my writing life. You may see more of me on here again in the future. Best wishes …

    • Hello, Jill. It’s great to hear you are writing again, and I wish you well with your treatment. I agree, we have a lot to be thankful for in Den, that it is a place we can find each other after the closure of Cloud, and carry on with our writing challenges.

      • Thank you, Janette. I never really stopped writing something or other for long! For instance, after four or five years of writing a weekly story and sharing it on FaceTime with younger grandson in America, I did have to admit that ideas had dried up! So we went over old ones, but then have found other literary ways of sharing the gift of storytelling by others. I hope he will treasure these times when he is an adult as I do now. Older grandson, now mid teens grew out of the storytelling some time ago! It is mainly my husband who continues to find topic of interest for him now, but thank goodness for technology keeping us all closely connected!
