I found it interesting, if sad that Athelstone was reminded of a Cypriot student friend by my comp. entry. What suffering that friend endured like so many Cypriots. My husband was working in Cyprus at the time of the coup and invasion and we were caught up in the mayhem, but we did not lose our own home and were eventually safely back in England with a premature baby! So our travails were nothing like those of the local people, the missing citizens, redfugees etc but it was part of our history and we have every compassion and love for this divided island and its people, including friends. This is what inspired Stella’s story and we too live in hope of a solution to the CyProb.

    • Gosh. Small world. My father was working there at the time and my younger sister was born earlier in the year. I was 5. Luckily for us we were able to leave sharp-ish shortly before the coup. I’m sorry you got caught up in it but glad you got out.

      • Good to hear from you, Bella – small world indeed! Wishing you and your writing well. 🌈🌞🌈
