Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 9 months agoAll OK here – finding the time to do the writing is hard at the mo, so I need to work on that, but the timings aren’t unachievable. Just that my life needs to calm down!! When does Class 2 go up?

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 9 months agoTa all! The substance in question was, I believe, CBD oil; two gents were having a very animated discussion about setting up in business to supply it.
@Raine – I am a death-dreamer, too! I’ve been shot, drowned, stabbed – really weird to feel my life ebbing away in the dream.
I think the forced thing is definitely due to the fact that I try to…[Read more]

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 9 months agoRead your dialogue soon after a trip to Mull. Wish I had the memory to write down what I hear i passing. And your ‘I remember blue tiles and the smell of drains and old food.’ sums it up; as you say above, you only need a couple of telling details.

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 9 months agoCan’t remember it all, now, and I couldn’t record, but overheard in the gym changing room (possibly TMI!):
My sister bought a laser machine and now she doesn’t have any at all. Anywhere.
How much was it?
It was a few years ago. Three or four hundred I think. She just zapped the hairs every time they grew back. What do you use?
Immac. Every…[Read more]

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 9 months agoAnd this a long ago piece deliberately adopting a Neolithic voice:
Always an edge to beware, to be aware of.

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 9 months agoI decided not to buy the books and would prefer to dip in and out on this, so herewith my contribution.
I remember a Christmas, the dining table, taller than me, piled as high again with presents (and bigger ones beneath) and the focus of five adults, all on me.
I remember my Dad laughing on a Sunday morning when stopped by a policeman for…[Read more] -

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 10 months agoBeauty is in the eye of the beholder, they say, and I certainly feel that way about Le Guin’s gorgeous passages. Some were more gorgeous than others. It’s all very subjective. But I have to say that your gorgeous is also my gorgeous. I absolutely loved that piece. “a clatter of kaleidoscope birds” – sublime.

First day
The first day of school was always like this – nervous parents clutching little ones’ hands, milling in a crowd of growing frenzy. The sooner they were decoupled and the parents moved firmly on their way, the better it would be for everyone. But first reassurance was needed.
I moved through the group, cutting apron strings when no one…[Read more]

I couldn’t do this idea justice. The right person could really build the tension and explore the changing relationships of the three characters as the story builds. Interesting project for someone, but not me.

Well, I got away with the last one so this is another blog from the Word Cloud. Apologies again to former Cloudies who remember it. To repeat myself, it’s worth saying straight out that I’m also sorry if they seem too locker-room in style. The male gaze is overused and far less important than male writers suppose. But the blogs are who I was…[Read more]
