How lovely to get back online and read all your news. So sorry I’ve been bad about keeping in touch. Been working like a mad thing – worst school timetable ever (promises to be better next term) and trying to finish the 2nd draft of House At The End Of Time in two and half months. I did it though, and sent off to agents. Will be meeting Hayley Steed of Madeleine Milburn Agency on Jan 3rd to discuss. (no offer of representation yet – and there may never be as there’s a whole new draft to write, which she may not like.) I had a bad experience with Madeleine in the past (she offered to take me on at York, then changed her mind after reading the full. she shouldn’t have offered so soon. it felt really insenstive) Nikki at Writers Workshop stopped me jumping off a bridge – or wanting to, anyway.

It would be so great to be able to give up teaching at the school, and have a few of my own students as well as writing. Means I’d be able to spend loads more time in the UK, and see you all much more often. Oh, that black forest bakewell sounded good… as well as the catch up over coffee in the gallery cafe. Not to mention the Christmas Market.

Congrats Raine and Xander on your latest comp wins. We sure are a determined, hard-working bunch.
