In case you hadn’t noticed, we now have a choice of editors for posting in forums. The default, what you see first, is the “Visual Editor”. This is actually the main editor for WordPress, (the core software for the Den), but it is disabled by BBPress, (the WordPress plugin that gives us forums). The reason for this seemingly odd choice, is that the Visual Editor sometimes didn’t play nicely with forums. However, the author of BBPress has provided a further plugin, to re-enable it, so that we now have a simple WYSIWYG editor. Over the next day or two, I will be making some minor changes to add additional functions, for instance the ability to select fonts and text sizes.
You may have noticed a curious little box icon on the top row of buttons, over on the right (looks unhelpfully like a couple of old video players stacked on each other). Hover over this with your mouse pointer and it says “Toolbar Toggle”. Click on this to display/hide the second row of buttons.
