Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 6 months agoNice summary @JaneShuff. I think you’re right – it’s about getting in the mindset of making notes and creating work regularly. I read an interesting quote from Ira Glass about closing the gap between what you want to be creating and where you are now. That was all about doing a big volume of work and having deadlines. It’s back to the old idea of…[Read more]

OK, I realise there is other stuff going on to occupy you, so let’s keep this simple, and seasonal:
About 400 words on “Falling Leaves”
Have fun! -

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 6 months agoI hope I’ve understood what is required/suggested for this part of the course. My overall aim is to expand my range in terms of writing habits and the type of writing I do which up to now has been very focussed on writing one novel after another.
I write every day already unless I am away from home or it is really impossible.
My plan t…[Read more]

Well, there’s a pleasant surprise for a Sunday morning! Thanks, Ath, and thank you fellow Denizens.

Oops! Sorry all – got my days mixed up, but anyway, super quality this month.
Sandra – Time to play

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 6 months agoAll OK here – finding the time to do the writing is hard at the mo, so I need to work on that, but the timings aren’t unachievable. Just that my life needs to calm down!! When does Class 2 go up?

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 6 months agoGorgeousness: My favourite bits were ‘afternoons draped in honey’ and ‘as cleanly as she peeled old skin from a white potato.’ I have been told I overwrite too sometimes. But what does it really mean?
I liked your I remember, too. Many of us chose to capture a single incident, or linked series, in our I remembers. I’ve also done it with…[Read more]

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 6 months agoYeah, timings are good for me too. As @kazg says – enough time that I can fit it in without feeling like it’s taking away from other stuff.

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 6 months agoIt works for me! Okay, I stumbled over the ‘gorgeous’ writing (which I may have complicated by trying to combine it with ‘something I know nothing about’) but, hey, I can chip away at that as and when.
The journal is up-to-date and close to being a habit, so that’s good, and I’m looking forward to four months of unemployment to help me catch up…[Read more] - Load More
