I was asked by a local school (I know the deputy head a little) to help open their new school library yesterday (Nicky Morgan was the main attraction, and she couldn’t stay long as she was jumping on a train to London for some kind of Brexit debate and vote…?!) and talk to KS2 about editing your writing.
While I was there, they asked me to be their Honorary Patron of Reading – or writing, can’t remember which, I was so gobsmacked! Course I said yes… And today, I received a message from a parent of one of the children, saying thank you for inspiring her daughter.
It’s not always all about the book sales, is it? Though book sales would of course be nice 😉
