Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 8 months agoSending hugs and support Jane, and I respect the no feedback request. I understand how you’re feeling – but can I just remind you how very much I’ve enjoyed the pieces I’ve read by you in the past?

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 8 months agoI decided not to buy the books and would prefer to dip in and out on this, so herewith my contribution.
I remember a Christmas, the dining table, taller than me, piled as high again with presents (and bigger ones beneath) and the focus of five adults, all on me.
I remember my Dad laughing on a Sunday morning when stopped by a policeman for…[Read more] -

Kirsty wasn’t interested in the marriage album but there was a folder of other wedding photos. She tipped the glossy prints out over the kitchen table: all those relatives and friends, held in their best outfits for decades.
It was fine to look at them now. The old emotions didn’t snag any longer. Her…[Read more]

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 8 months agoHmm. Gorgeous is as gorgeous does, but I did enjoy wallowing in my words, which was the point I guess. Haven’t captured much dialogue yet, for the past week I seem to be on a very noisy trams, or too far away from people talking or alternatively next to non-English speakers or silent people reading or on phones. Will keep trying!

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 8 months agoWhen I’ve done courses in the past on other things as well as writing, we’ve often either kept a diary or shared ‘reflections’ on each section and what we thought we learned from it. I’ve found this very helpful both to clarify my own thoughts and to see what others gained. Plus it was interesting to see what different things people got from the…[Read more]

Andrew Wille's DIY MA course 6 years, 8 months agoGood dialogue harvesting @squidge, and I especially liked the peas 🙂
I thought your ‘gorgeous’ para was really arresting and clear, it didn’t feel forced or unnatural at all and it was really vivid. What a dream! Beautifully captured.

Well, I got away with the last one so this is another blog from the Word Cloud. Apologies again to former Cloudies who remember it. To repeat myself, it’s worth saying straight out that I’m also sorry if they seem too locker-room in style. The male gaze is overused and far less important than male writers suppose. But the blogs are who I was…[Read more]

BTW – don’t assume you won’t write this idea. I almost gave an idea once… but then realised actually I wanted to write it myself!
