As my husband is an electrician, that made me smile!
I had the big agent sign me thing, which was amazing, but then he couldn’t get a publisher to take a chance on my book as it was set in America and I’m British, so dropped me. Then an Indie publisher, Urbane books, signed it and it was published last year ( Nemesister) and the sequel is out on the 27th (Broken Ponies) – nothing like the French war time book we discussed on the cloud! But I’m more excited about then being signed by Retreat West, which is an even smaller imprint run by another ex-cloudie, but the book she’s signed I’m really pleased about, as the first big agent refused it on the ground it was to angry, too feminist and only of interest to women, which as you might imagine, meant I was quite glad he dropped me after all! It’s called ‘All the things that made me, are broken into pieces,’ and is out next spring, about to do the edit on it. So, swings and round-a-bouts!
