Don’t know if any of the YA/Children’s writers would be interested in this, but GEA North have extended their submission deadline until November 19th. For those who haven’t heard of it, the short blurb reads:
GEA North works with new writers, professional writers, published authors and MA postgrads – as well as writers who simply feel ‘stuck’ with their work or are writing for children or young adults for the first time. Whatever stage you’re at, through our mix of workshops, online classes and one-to-one editorials with publishing professionals, Golden Egg can help you develop your story, polish it and prepare for submission. When our Mentoring students are ready to submit, we use our contacts and industry knowledge to send your text to literary agents and help find someone suitable to represent your work.
Just putting it out there…
P>S> Tilda Johnson, children’s & YA editor and head of Golden Egg Academy North, will be doing a Twitter Q&A 7.30-8pm on Thursday 15th November as part of #GEAvember, a string of daily chats about writing for children and young adults which also features guest ‘speakers’. Tilda’s session is an editorial surgery open to all writers and interested parties, not just Golden Egg students – do look it up and join in. (NB even if you’re not registered to Twitter, you can follow the #GEAvember conversation using the hashtag.)
