December SloMo 7 years, 6 months agoHi SloMoers, how’s it going? One bit of exciting news from my own endless submission process – Danielle told me that Lisa (the Penguin editor) has confirmed she’s taking When Days Tilt to an acquisitions meeting after Easter!! Hooray! I thought she’d reject it so my gut feel was WRONG. Thank goodness. Still no guarantees of course, but one step in…[Read more]

Oh wow, what a story @philippaeast. Suspense and pacing tight as a drum, cool and utterly unnerving. Brilliant!

Oh, I didn’t think it was for younger people. Read it as adult for sure. Hope it finds its form in the end, and that your other projects are going okay meantime. X

Though the story of every fatal accident is a tragedy for somebody, few are quite so sad as the tale of what is known as the Thirsk railway accident, although it actually happened about three miles north of there. I have perforce had to include some (simplified) signalling technicalities, but you’d need a heart of stone not to be moved by this…[Read more]

Hey @bellam, I just saw an extract of your book on the JW slushpile live video (with the Bent Agency). I thought it was great, and I’m so intrigued about your characters, especially Molly. Hope you’ve worked our your narrative device…. š

I was thinking a PM to the setter would be the easiest way, and not putting too much responsibility on a smallish group of people, but we can always try it for a while and see how it goes.
An alternating competitive-non competitive challenge is an option, but how would we decide who set the prompt for the non-competitive months?

Squidge replied to the topic Camp NaNoWriMo in the forum The Writers' Lifeboat 7 years, 7 months ago
Just to prove how stupid I am – did not realise that the camp didn’t let you post anything until the official start of the writing period. But at least I know where to find the thing to log word count – even if it’s not appearing yet.
Can you tell I’ve not done this before? *face plant*
