I have so missed reading your writing! So good to see you here x
Ooh… I like this. Love the ramblings of his mind and the nuggets he reveals. I think I only noticed one it’s instead of its towards the start, so don’t worry so much about the dyslexia…
The first thing I picked up on are his speech/thought patterns. By which I mean he sounds…[Read more]

Like it. You mentioned ‘telly’ bits – as in telling, rather than showing. So when we first meet Florence, you tell us ‘a woman was sitting in a chair’ – a simple change like ‘a woman sat in a chair, eyes on the tv’ can make it less so. Similarly, towards the end, ‘He held a glass in each hand which…’could become something like ‘The glasses in…[Read more]

So, so pleased for you – to get placed once in a comp is awesome, but to be placed twice in the same one? Out of this world!
I am so chuffed with all this good news today in the Den!!

Does anyone know how to stop email notifications of posts here? My inbox is full!! Which is lovely because it means there is lots happening, but it’s a bit of a pain having to delete everything. Can’t remember signing up to anything that asked for notifications when I signed up…
-
Go to the little icon of your profile top RH corner. Select edit profile, then settings, then email. A list of things to opt in or opt out of notifications for will appear. Click on opt out for everything you don’t want an email about. Think you get automatically set as opt in when you sign up rather than asked what notifications you want 🙂

Thanks Jules – sorted!
-
I’m glad you asked that Squidge, I was getting the same thing

I really do need to fish those navigation FAQ sheets! Will get on that.

I think we all thought it’ll be OK, it’ll carry on but just get worse to access. Not that we’d wake up to find the whole lot gone…
And yes, to see people join, and build their confidence and skills – whether that led to publishing success or not – was a real privilege and huge part of the community the cloud developed into.

Squidgey! Just look at your cute face. Don’t think I’ve ever seen it before not that my memory is reliable cos it not lols 😆

I surprised myself when I looked at the Scribbles, just how long it is since I last blogged. Think it’s cos I’ve not had the time rather than not having material.
Anyway, was feeling a bit melancholy last night about the demise of the cloud, and how the festival would be without that strong cloudie vibe, so I mused a bit about its loss.If you…[Read more]

Quick question – where’s the best place d’you think, to post links to blogs written by Denizens. Like the Scribbles? Wondered whether to stick them in the marketplace, but not quite sure it fits there?
-
Do you mean permanent links as in – follow this link there may be a new blog here, or occasional links as in – look at this interesting blog?
-
If it’s a link to a blog advertising or providing services, then the marjetplace. If it’s a link to a blog you’ve written then blogs. Or I suppose if it’s a link to a useful resource then the Lifeboat might be the best place. I think for the Scribbles they’d fit best in Blogs 🙂
-
Okey doke…so depending on what kind of blog, it’ll change location. Ta.
-
Send me a msg too or a notification and I’ll put it out on twitter (or tweet it to @denofwriters or use the #denofwriters hashtag if you fancy using twitter yourself and I’ll boost it).

I know others have said it – saying it here cos I can’t find the flippin’ thoughts on the den blog to comment there. (I WILL find my way around eventually and remember for more than two minutes where I last read something!) Would be really nice to have some details in our profiles about ourselves, not least cos I like to find out about new peeps…[Read more]

Admin is working on giving you extended profiles Squidge, never you fear. And Word Press will translate basic symbols into the appropriate emojis however if you access the Deb via your phone or ipad or similar, you can use the emojis from the keyboard package and Word Press will disply them on the Den…[Read more]

Also @squidge, if you right click with your touchpad, a menu will appear with the word Emoji at the top of it. When you click that word Emoji a menu full of emojis will appear and you can emote to your heart’s contentment 😍

OK. Um… working on a laptop as my phone doesn’t do anything but take calls and send texts. (Yes, really! But Mr Squidge is talking about dragging me into the 21st century re posh phones, so we live in hope…) @knickylaurelle, does that right click work on a mouse? I see I shall have to experiment – or stick to 🙂 😉 🙁 :O 😛
-
Ha – and there’s one down already 😉
-
Ought to add, I have no idea what a keyboard package is… Doh!
-
That right click does work on a mouse! Happy emoting 😀
