Go with the one you and your agent both like. ๐
FWIW I like it too.

Mine would definitely be a slow write. I have no idea how I’m going to get any writing done at all between now and the New Year… Not even my Room with a view! ๐
I’ll sign up though, and hope for the best… -

The Banjo
The phone rings in the lost property office at Euston Station in London.
โLost Property, Smith speaking, how may we help?โ
He takes a sip from his tea, listens.
โYes, sir, anything left on a train on this line ends up here. Assuming itโs turned in, like. What have you lost?
โSo, a banjo is it sir? Well let me have a look, wonโt be…[Read more] -

I might sort of do it from the sidelines… use the general impetus and ground swell to push on with book 2. Very much doubt I’ll be hitting those targets, but I’d like to get some more chapters written.
Maybe we can have DeNoWriMo (Den novel writing month)

What a beautifully written story. My favourite line: “You said she made you feel young. How did she do that? I replied. Did she read you bedtime stories?”

I’m doing NaNo this year. In process of planning new novel ready to start. I’m on there as ThrowingCopper if anyone wants to buddy up? 😊
(Think I’m already buddies with you, Ath and Daed.)

So does that mean we have to come clean on our daily word count? Oh Lord, I really WILL have to buck my ideas up!
Am I allowed the 1st November off? Interview day for candidates for the new vicar…and guess who’s one of the interviewers? ๐ -

HA! Just crossed with Daeds – Daeds, shall we form a novel finishing club?!!

Is there a version for NaNoFiMo? (National Novel Finishing Month) I really must get moving on the WIP, but I’ve stalled with everything else going on and I cannot get motivated to write at all. Keep knitting instead…

I wouldn’t have said that any of them give any indication as to the target readership. I’d just assume it was an unusual character name, with possibly a hint of sci-fi, but it doesn’t give anything away about the story.

Listening to an old Jimmy Buffett album. Doesn’t have the same impact it did when listening to it lying on the deck of my boat with a glass of rum in my hand, swinging to the anchor in a Caribbean bay.

Control or to warn?
And I suppose that’s another thing…. we all choose the stories we want to hear!!

I’ve also come to realise that themes / controlling ideas are basically the reason why human beings have always told, written and read stories.
We are all trying to understand how the world works and how best to live our lives within it.

Maybe it’s something as simple (elegant) as “when desire burns too hot, it destroys”?
I think mine is: “only when culpability is deeply acknowledged can true reconciliation occur.”
