On the How to get an Agent thread, page 3. In any event, here is the course:
https://www.faberacademy.co.uk/creative-writing-courses/who-do-you-think-they-are-character-creative-writing-course-gic2.htmlThe course is horrendously expensive, and the course info is a little misleading in that the tutoring is only in the morning. Nevertheless, I,…[Read more]

A New Dawn
A blood red sun rose through the smoke from a thousand cooking fires, smoke that hung like mist over distant Alexandra township. A typical African morning on the highveld, but this was not a typical day. Daniel and his mother stepped from the bus onto the dusty road and followed the other passengers. Daniel wished his father could be…[Read more]

I suspect there might be a difference between US and UK practice as far as copyright goes. In the UK, copyright is presupposed so you don’t need to do anything to assert it. In the US it may be a bit less clear cut

Indeed it is. Well done John. That’s an amazingly fast turnaround as well, they must have loved it

An author’s work is automatically copyrighted as soon as it’s produced. Registering copyright is not necessary. All registration does is make legal pursuit of a plagiarist a little easier.

Wowed by your generosity, Philippa! I’m sure you do/will get a lot out of it too. In case you missed my post on another thread, I recently completed a stunning course at Faber called ‘Who do you think they are?’ which was led by a psychotherapist. It was fascinating and very useful.

A Room with a View 7 years, 9 months agoThere’s an awful lot of meanness going on around here. I vote ‘generous’ coz that’s just the kinda gal I am.

[worried about lack of generosity] I think you need to post this on the chitchat topic.
-
Be mean to all those meanies…
-
I laughed when I saw your reply (you know I can be mean, too!) 😀
Must confess, I’m getting a bit lost around here, and I usually have an excellent sense of direction.
-
I know what you mean! No, about the sense of direction.
-
And I hadn’t meant to be pointed about meanness, in any way.
-
Rest assured, I didn’t take it like that!

Remember “Memories” in the critique section? Now it’s “Felicity’s First” at Across The Margin: http://acrossthemargin.com/felicitys-first/

Oh Gosh, you’re 100% right. I remember now. Also, no biting, gouging or spoon scooping action. That last one almost got through if I recall, but was thrown out on a recount after somebody was shown to have voted for it 17 times. Can’t remember who that was now.

No idea.-

My experience of Twitter is that the impression one gets of its nature, for example whether there is a particular faction behaving in a particular way, is very much dependent on where you go and who you follow but also what you regard as appropriate or excessive. Personally, I have never noticed that I am not followed back; if anything I am the…[Read more]
