Lovely blog, Skylark and I did laugh at the train incident! Listening to you speak was a perfect end to a very enjoyable Festival. Like Janette, knowing that you were giving the keynote was the number one reason I decided to go for the fourth time in a row, despite the JW changes.
You handled it brilliantly, with passion and clarity, and we could…[Read more] -

I so wish I’d been there to hear you speak, Skylark. You may be tired of hearing it but you really do deserve your success. Not just for Home, which is a fantastic book, but for the years of contributions to everybody who knows you – the encouragement and the example and damn near 100% good nature and positivity.

@kazg Yes! I’ve found several aspects of the publishing industry quite daunting and such a relief to go to my agent and say ‘Help!’ and she’s brilliant every time!

@jd73 Enjoyed your comp entry. It reminded me of your namesake’s Struldbruggs (it isn’t you is it, Mr. Swift?) but damned by curiosity rather than fate. And an ending even bleaker than Swift imagined.

What a brilliant weekend that was! A week on and the post-York anti-climax has just about faded though I still feel like I’m catching up on sleep. No change there, then!
A friend asked me this week if doing the keynote on Sunday was more or less scary than the Telly Thing. Easy to answer as I don’t think anything will ever be as scary as the…[Read more]

On the matter of the supposed redirect to the secure address. I opened the old address this morning as I hadn’t changed my favourites. Everything appeared as normal (except the address said not secure) until I tried to log in. It simply ignored my log in with no messages and no redirect. Fortunately I saw Daed’s reply to Hilary from last night and…[Read more]

Bonjour
When we lived in La Rochelle, my governess tried to make me say ‘Bonjour,’ to people we met in the street. It was polite she said, I would never be a gentleman if I did not learn to be polite. But I was shy, and after our morning walk she would scold me, and shake me impatiently. Papa was away at the war and Maman was – distant. I knew s…[Read more]

Anyone else having trouble logging in using internet explorer?

This might relate to the maintenance that was done yesterday. Note from ‘admin’ says: Some minor site maintenance has been going on today. It shouldn’t have caused any disruptions, however there is now an automatic redirect to using the site with the SSL certificate. You may find that the Den logs you off and asks you to log back in using h…[Read more]

And if that doesn’t work. You many need to clear your browser history or cookies and log in again. Apologies but it seems to have hit a couole of browsers harder than others 🙄

Thanks, Daeds, Jules (and Mad on twitter). I was using the address on my favourites bar which was the one without the s. So I’ve changed it and now it’s ok. I’m a bit of a numpty when it comes to tech.
