I hesitated about posting a general update about the Den too. But I think you’re all right – I’m sure I’m in contact with some Cloudies on twitter, FB and email so I’ll set up a smoke signal and see who responds. Maybe everyone else could do the same?
You could definitely hold the challenge here, Ath, assuming you’re happy to. I think you’d get a lot of takers and there was a reasonable window of time on it so it should allow people to join the Den and get used to the new navigation before the competition is fully underway. It does look like the Cloud is really gone, doesn’t it?

Same here. I’ve found it erratic for a couple of weeks now but today nothing at all – blank screen. I think everyone 3lse I’ve spoken to has had the same problem.

Ooh I’m up on the podium with Daed πŸ™‚

It feels like a long time since we wrote the book now and it’s great that it’s on it’s way for public consumption now.

And thanks, Raine. All signal boosting much appreciated.

I found the Cloud has been slower and more erratic than ever over last few days. Could be coincidental or coukd be increased activity I guess. Suggest that everyone keeps a record of their choices and the story when it comes to it, just in case.

Yes. It’s one of the little snarls to be untangled – that sticky topics show in a sub forum even though they are located in a separate forum.

Yes. Excellent point, Squidge. When monkeying around with someone else’s work, it’s important to always remember that your ideas and the author’s ideas may not mesh. Any rewriting should be done sparingly, strictly as an example (unless the author requests otherwise) and the power should always be returned to the author when you’ve finished.

There’s this topic and a sticky FAQ page which is closed to comments, Barny. Otherwise it looks fine in my browser.

Really interesting reading, Richard. The name was familiar but I haven’t read anything by him. It’ unusal for me not to have at least sampled something by a historic fantasy writer. I can see what you mean about his writing being a bit Marmite. It was making me wince and laugh at the same time.

Since I am unable to eat wheat without getting terrible migraines, cyber cake of any flavour is my absolute favourite πŸ˜‰ I am very grateful for all the cyber cake coming my way too.

I know what you mean, Ath. We coukd do with a bit more clarity on labelling. I may be able to shut certain pathways down so that we don’t have topics appearing all forums when their actual location is a specific sub forum. The parent forum is still open for topics for now and we’ll see how it goes but that might be something that can be restricted too.

Hoping to sort out those FAQ navigation etc pages tomorrow, Squidge, so hopefully that will help. I admit it’s taking a bit of getting used to and I built the thing so I ought to know whete everything is really!

    Thanks for feedback, everyone 😊

That sounds brilliant, Daed! Congratulations. I think one of thr best feelings from writing is knowing that you’ve really connected with your target audience and this definitely falls into that bracket. The comissioned artwork is very exciting too. Remember to come back in October and remind us it’s available 😊🍾πŸ₯‚

I’m looking in to whether there are extra permissions that can be set for user profiles for both altering or adding. Will get back to you. Don’t think you’re the only one who had that issue with the user name though so some clarification would definitely help.

Yes, I was wondering about setting the main wall as the home page, Daed. Will have a look and if it can’t be done, I’ll add a few navigation instructions under About. Might add some anyway tbh.

I think it’s that I basically haven’t set it as a default. Thought I had but obvioudly haven’t. Will take a look tomorrow. But yes it occurred to me somewhat belatedly that that must be the case.
