Mine would definitely be a slow write. I have no idea how I’m going to get any writing done at all between now and the New Year… Not even my Room with a view! 🙁
I’ll sign up though, and hope for the best… -

The Banjo
The phone rings in the lost property office at Euston Station in London.
“Lost Property, Smith speaking, how may we help?”
He takes a sip from his tea, listens.
“Yes, sir, anything left on a train on this line ends up here. Assuming it’s turned in, like. What have you lost?
“So, a banjo is it sir? Well let me have a look, won’t be…[Read more] -

Yes, there’s something to be said for leaving all the polishing until the editing, and I’m sure it works for some, but not for me. If something I’ve written doesn’t satisfy me, it niggles at me until I’ve put it right.

Can’t say I’ve ever felt tempted. I find rigid targets counter-productive, and I fear that if I were concerning myself with the number of my words rather than the quality I’d churn out crap. And I can’t bear to write crap, even temporarily. Quality over quantity for me, any day. Yes, I’m slow, but I usually get there in the end.

So does that mean we have to come clean on our daily word count? Oh Lord, I really WILL have to buck my ideas up!
Am I allowed the 1st November off? Interview day for candidates for the new vicar…and guess who’s one of the interviewers? 😉 -

Is there a version for NaNoFiMo? (National Novel Finishing Month) I really must get moving on the WIP, but I’ve stalled with everything else going on and I cannot get motivated to write at all. Keep knitting instead…

I wouldn’t have said that any of them give any indication as to the target readership. I’d just assume it was an unusual character name, with possibly a hint of sci-fi, but it doesn’t give anything away about the story.

Listening to an old Jimmy Buffett album. Doesn’t have the same impact it did when listening to it lying on the deck of my boat with a glass of rum in my hand, swinging to the anchor in a Caribbean bay.

Time is sometimes described as a fourth dimension, so:
Fourth Dimension
The Fourth Dimension
Into the, From the, Out of the, Attack of the. (last one was a joke). -

The Time Snatcher of London Towns?
A shadow of time… (working on from Jonathan’s suggestions)
A shadow in time?I really hate titles sometimes!;)

A Cuckoo in the Nest?
Hmm. Possibly a bit of a cliché, but the image seems apt.

I like the ‘Here Ends…’, but what to say is ending.
…the Seven Years of Pain
…the Seven Years of Separation.
Why not something like Seven Years Apart or The seven years of separation. The End Begins Here…? Just playing now!I also wonder if some of the other themes are more relevant to the title? There are an awful lot of themes going…[Read more]

I can understand how this man feels, but I also remember that the coxswain turned away some of those who did make it to the lifeboat station. Who’s to say he might not have been one of them?
If you want to experience the full admiration for the courage of those men, you need to watch that BBC film and listen to Russell Smith’s eyewitness account…[Read more]
